Battle of Aiken – Annual Festival of Living History | February
Thousands travel to Aiken each year to see hundreds of soldiers and living historians recreate The Battle of Aiken, one of the last Confederate victories of the war. Visitors can watch three recreated battles, tour numerous stations to learn more about the Civil War, and attend a historically accurate 19th-century church service.
Joye in Aiken Festival & Programs | March, June, December
Founded in 2008, Joye in Aiken is a collaboration between the City of Aiken and The Juilliard School. Together, Joye in Aiken provides public performances of a festival in March, a jazz camp in June, and a holiday concert in December. You’ll appreciate the talents and dedication of the world’s finest musicians, actors, and dancers.
Aiken Steeplechase Races | March & October
The Aiken Steeplechase Association hosts two steeplechase racing events each year, the Imperial Cup in March and the Holiday Cup in October. Cheer on your favorites at the Aiken Steeplechase Racecourse, which determines the year’s top trainer, jockey, and horse. The Racecourse also hosts classic movie nights in the fall and the annual Oyster Roast Fundraiser in the spring. The fundraiser benefits the association and Golden Harvest Food Bank and features a fun evening of oyster shucking, live music, and drinks.
Augusta Craft Beer Festival | April
Nearly 25 breweries participate in the annual Augusta Craft Beer Festival at SRP Park in North Augusta, Georgia. VIP tickets are available for purchase and include early admission, unique craft beer samples, food pairings, and an event shirt.
Aiken Music Fest | May-October
Aiken Music Fest is a monthly concert series held on Saturday nights from May through October. Each event, located at Highfields in Aiken, features top local talent followed by a headliner band. Enjoy refreshments from local food and drink vendors and shop in our makers and creators market.
Hops & Hogs Festival | June
Barbecue and craft beer enthusiasts will love this annual festival held in downtown Aiken. Admission is free, and alcohol and food will be available for purchase throughout this Saturday evening event featuring live music and fun.
Downtown Aiken Annual Events | Year-round
The Aiken Downtown Development Association plans numerous events throughout the year to celebrate the changing seasons and holidays. Attendees can expect a Summer Sip n’ Shop in July, Sidewalk Sale on Labor Day weekend, Scarecrow Contest in the fall, Octoberfest and Fall Fest in October, and a variety of holiday and Christmas special events, tree lightings, and parades in December.
Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival | September
Drawing crowds of over 100,000, the Arts in the Heart of August Festival is held annually in downtown Augusta, Georgia. The weekend event features over 100 juried artists, five entertainment stages, and nearly 20 international food booths. The entertainment includes cultural music, dance, popular music, jazz, poetry, storytelling, acoustic music, spoken word, and more.
